About us

The Knowledge Centre for the Health Services is incorporated in the Norwegian Institute of Public Health as of 1 January 2016. The centre contributes to quality improvement in the health services by summarising research, promoting the use of research results, measuring the quality of health services, and working to improve patient safety.

Our products and services include:

  • Systematic reviews
  • Health Technology assessments (HTA)
  • Patient and user experience surveys 
  • Other quality measurements
  • Teaching and training
  • Helsebiblioteket.no (The Norwegian Electronic Health Library - useful information for health professionals) 
  • Mednytt.no, a database with early assessments of emerging technologies
  • Home to The Campbell Collaboration's Headquarters (The office facilitates the work of Campbell's international network)

We carry out work for regional health authorities, The Norwegian Directorate of Health, the Norwegian Medicines Agency, and the Ministry of Health and Care Services. We also carry out work for clinical environments and for professional and user interest groups. Some projects are initated internally.
